Robert Flynn
Managing Member
Robert Flynn is Managing Member, United Brokers Group LLC, and is a licensed Massachusetts and Rhode Island Real Estate Broker. He has been a business brokerage firm owner for nineteen years and has a detailed understanding as to how to buy and sell a business. Prior to that period he was a Senior Executive in a public company and then a privately held technology manufacturing business for twenty-eight years. He has owned five businesses and sold three of them. Robert received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Rhode Island in 1977, where he was a member of two national honor societies. He attended the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Harvard University as a Special Student in 1982 and received a Master of Liberal Arts degree from the Harvard University Extension School in 1984.
From 1982 to 1996 Robert was a Senior Executive at the publicly traded +$3 billion (USD) London-based Cookson Group. He managed technology and manufacturing companies in England and the United States with a particular emphasis on startup and turnaround situations.
He was President of the Cookson Group company Key-Tech, Inc., a patented plastics technology company with operations in Rhode Island and England. Robert acquired Key-Tech from Cookson in 1996, turned it around by structuring it as a licensing entity, and ultimately sold it to another publicly traded company in Europe. He then acquired several businesses which led him to creating a unique business brokerage model in the NorthEast.
He is a founding member of “The Manufacturing Summit”, Rhode Island’s leading manufacturing policy organization, and oversaw its daily operations. An acknowledged authority in economic development matters particularly in manufacturing and technology he has been featured or quoted in numerous regional and national articles. He created and had passed into Rhode Island law five manufacturing and economic development statutes. His legislative initiatives in 2012 and 2013 expanded to enhancing business brokerage regulation in Rhode Island and he is a former member of New England Business Brokers Association (NEBBA) www.nebba.com
Mr. Flynn is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He is a member of the Kent-Washington Board of Realtors.
Other Board Directorships and Trustee positions held, present and past, include Business Brokers Association of New England www.bbane.org, the federally financed Rhode Island Manufacturing Extension Services (RIMES), The Rhode Island Export Center at Bryant University, Key-Tech, Inc., American Diabetes Association (Rhode Island Affiliate), and “Save The Bay” www.savebay.org which is New England’s largest environmental organization.
Mr. Flynn is also a Cooperating Intermediary with The Gottesman Company of Manhattan as well as an "Industry Expert-Manufacturing" for the "Business Reference Guide" which is the dominant provider of "Rules of Thumb" for small business and middle market valuations and is published annually.
He is a contributing author and under contract with BizBuySell for articles published in their “Knowledge Center”. Four articles published by BizBuySell. The Manhattan based Axial has also published articles by Mr. Flynn (please see our "News and Articles" tab on this site). He is frequently quoted in business publications and was quoted twice in articles by “Inc. Magazine” in 2022 as well as Bloomberg News.

Jim Conway

Jim Conway is a licensed Real Estate Broker serving both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Jim has over twenty five years experience in the commercial real estate industry. He began his real estate career in property management and ownership of commercial properties. He is a successful commercial real estate broker, leasing and selling commercial and multi-family properties. Jim has extensive knowledge of state and local laws pertaining to fire code compliance, town building inspections, and zoning laws.
Prior to working in the real estate field, Jim was a successful business owner. In this capacity, he owned and managed an auto parts retail store in Warwick, Rhode Island for over seventeen years. Jim lives in Warwick with his family and is an active member of the community.
Geoff Brooks
Senior Regional Broker-Middle Market Transactions, Connecticut
Geoff's background includes over twenty years of experience in Sales, Sales Management, and Executive Recruiting for the high technology and post-production industries. His clients included The Walt Disney Company, Eastman Kodak, Industrial Light and Magic, and Digital Domain (founded by Oscar winning director James Cameron) the VFX Studio that produced The Titanic. His management experience includes several years with Agfa/Miles where he was responsible for major technology license agreements with OEMS including Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Matsushita and Commodore. He also funded and managed a boutique stone design-and-build firm "Arcadia", focusing on traditional dry-wall construction and hardscapes.
Geoff is a graduate of Harvard University (Bachelor of Arts Anthropology) and Boston University (MBA). He lives with his family in Guilford, Connecticut.
Glen Houlihan, President, EGH Advisors
Glen Houlihan is a Small Business Financial & Operations Consultant. He has over twenty years of project management experience in structuring small business loans. Glen masterfully turns around small stagnant businesses into fine-tuned operations. He has a successful track record of identifying growth opportunities and then driving improved efficiencies and profits.
Glen works closely with United Brokers Group LLC to provide financing solutions including acquisition financing, recapitalizations, and very commonly assists Buyers with SBA 7 (a) and SBA 504 financing. He has worked with Robert Flynn for seventeen years.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University and Master’s Degree from Framingham State University.
